Okay, we are in Chodesh Adar Aleph.0:17Today is Rosh Chodesh Adar Aleph.0:20Mishenichnas Adar,0:23chachamim telas, marbim b'simcha. We increase the happiness.0:26We have much more simcha in the month of Adar.0:30Marosh yeshiva, Rabbi Shor used to say0:33that in a year, the sefarim bring down,0:36in a year where you have a double Adar, like we do this year, which is a leap year,0:40so we have a total of 60 days of Adar.0:44So that's 60 days of0:46simcha. Marbim b'simcha, it's 60 days of simcha.0:49He says, brought down0:51in sefarim, that if you have 60 days of simcha,0:53so if any person has any sort of sadness, any0:58atzvut, so it's automatically batel b'shishim. As we know the rule1:02that when you have 60 times1:04more than 60 times of heter, more than1:08the issur, it nullifies it.1:10It basically takes away its effect.1:13Likewise, anybody, chas v'shalom, goes through sadness1:16and he can't worship Hashem properly,1:18he can't serve Hashem properly, he can't think properly,1:20he can't get into it. Simcha is the key,1:24as sefarim bring down, all the Chassidic sefarim bring this down1:27constantly, not only Breslov,1:28but they all speak about the importance of simcha in avodat Hashem.1:31The Rambam brings simcha even for the1:35Nevi'im. 60 days of simcha, 60 days of happiness1:39will be mevatel the klipah of the1:42sitra achra, the evil side that tries to make a person feel down1:45and mitya'esh and feel like he gave up, like he has no hope.1:48It's the time for renewal. We're coming to the holidays.1:51We're coming to the holidays of Pesach,1:56Sefirat HaOmer. Chagas Shavuot, Matan Torah.1:58So this is the time that we have to prepare ourselves2:03and bring ourselves into the simcha,2:06the state of simcha, to worship Hashem.2:08Now the question is,2:10what is this simcha all about?2:14What's the purpose of this happiness?2:17Why are we so happy,2:19or why should we be so happy? Purim?2:21That's it? The whole month of Adar,2:24marbim simcha because just of Purim?2:26When this rule only existed when there was Purim around?2:30So the Or Gedalyahu has a very, very nice explanation.2:34He says, if you look in the Gemara,2:36Masechet Ta'anit, you'll find that the Gemara over this2:38brings this line, Mishenichnas Adar marbim2:41b'simcha. But right before that,2:42the Gemara says, the Mishnah says,2:44Keshem k'shenichnas Av,2:49mema'atin b'simcha, kach k'shenichnas Adar, marbim2:53b'simcha. Translate. Just like when the month of Av comes in,2:57we start cutting down,2:59we start lowering our simcha,3:01we start minimizing our simcha,3:04so too when the month of Adar comes in,3:07we start to increase our simcha.3:10Says the3:12Or Gedalyahu, in the fact that the Gemara put them together,3:15the sadness, or the decreasing of the happiness3:20in the month of Av,3:22it is associated with,3:24or compared to, the increasing of the happiness3:27of the month of Adar,3:29must be the link together.3:30Both of them are for the same reason.3:33Now, the reason of mi'ut simcha,3:36when we decrease the happiness in the month of Av,3:39there's halachot to it.3:40What's3:41the halachot? We cannot build anything.3:45You know, back in the days, we used to build apartments3:47for the3:49chatanim. You know, when people would get married,3:50they'd build a house,3:51and that house would have the wedding.3:53Eventually, that's where the chatan would live.3:54That's called3:55a beit chatnut. We'd cut down on building houses for the3:59chatan, anything that brings about simcha.4:00All things that have to do with preparation of weddings.4:02We have no weddings4:04in our days. We don't listen to music,4:06and we don't eat meat,4:07we don't drink wine,4:08and all these things that bring about happiness.4:11Why?4:11Because the Beit HaMikdash was destroyed,4:14and we lost the Shechinah, the presence of the4:17Shechinah. So too, says the4:19Ohr HaYahu, or at least the flip side of it4:21is the month of Adar.4:23The month of Adar,4:24the fact that we increase the simcha,4:26from the Gemara4:27it seems that we're increasing the simcha,4:29we're increasing the happiness,4:30because it is a time of building,4:32in a time of building and preparing4:35the house for the Shechinah to come.4:38And what's interesting is that if you look4:40in the month of Adar,4:41the parashiyot that we read,4:42whether it's a leap year or not,4:44so the difference between a leap year4:45or not a leap year4:46will be just if it's Adar Aleph or Adar Bet.4:49In the leap year,4:51when it's Adar Aleph,4:53like this year,4:53we read the parashiyot of Terumah,4:58Tetzaveh,5:01Ki Tisa, Vayakhel, Pekudei, as well as Vayikra and Shemini.5:03All of these5:05parashiyot deal with the construction of the Mishkan,5:09which eventually was the model5:11of the building known as the Beit HaMikdash.5:16And when it's not a leap year,5:17kava chomer, it's the whole month of Adar.5:18But even in a leap year,5:19we go even in Parashat Vayikra and Shemini;5:21those are also parashiyot that deal with5:22the service of the Beit HaMikdash,5:24which is all coming for one purpose,5:26and that is the presence of the5:28Shechinah. The idea of having a Beit HaMikdash5:29is the fact that we have Hashem right there.5:31Can you think for a moment?5:34Stop for a second5:35and think about your block.5:36Think about the block that you live in.5:37And if you live in that block for a long time,5:40you know,5:41the mashal is going to be even better.5:42Think about the block.5:43You obviously like the block,5:44or maybe too poor to move out of the block5:46in any case.5:47But by time you should get used to it.5:49The Gemara says,5:52Hen makom al yoshvav. There's a certain liking that a person develops5:55when he lives in a certain neighborhood.5:57So now,5:57you live in a certain neighborhood5:58and you're happy.6:00You're happy on the6:00block. You have your neighbor down the block.6:02You have your neighbor next door.6:04Maybe some people you don't get along with,6:05but there's obviously some things6:06that you love on the block.6:07Think of the thing6:08that you love the most on the block.6:09It could be a relative on the block.6:11It could be another person on the block.6:12It could be the fact that6:13it's such a close location.6:14But there's something.6:15It could be that you're next to a shul.6:17Now,6:18what would you say,6:20chas v'shalom, if that thing that you love on the block6:22all of a sudden goes away?6:23That family that was down the6:25block where your kids used to play with them6:26all the time6:27and such a good family,6:28eidah family,6:28family that you could count on,6:31they moved out of the block.6:32Then they moved down to another block.6:33Then they moved down to another neighborhood.6:35They moved to a different state.6:36They made aliyah to6:38Eretz Yisrael. So good for them,6:39but,6:39ah,6:41you're left without them.6:43It feels a little bit lonely.6:45We all know the feeling6:46when the summer months come6:48and if you're a Brooklyner6:48and you don't get out of Brooklyn,6:50you feel very lonely.6:51Yes, true,6:51there's parking,6:52but you know what?6:53Yeah, you miss a little bit of the noise6:54and all the kids running around.6:56So6:57we all know what it feels like6:58to have somebody in the7:00neighborhood that we like very much,7:01and especially somebody7:01that we could count on and rely on.7:04That's my understanding7:06and my mashal7:07on a very, very,7:08of course,7:08a very small level7:09of what it means7:10to have a7:11Shechinah living with us.7:13The Shechinah to live with us,7:15Hashem is so close to us7:16that we feel His presence,7:18that He's down the block,7:19that He's right there,7:20that He's in our houses.7:23This week's parashah tells us,7:25Hashem says,7:25I will live amongst you.7:27You make that Mishkan.7:28You have a Beit HaMikdash.7:29I'll be with you everywhere,7:31not just in the Beit HaMikdash,7:32of course,7:32where it's the greatest presence7:34and a person could almost see it.7:37But, you know, I certainly feel it.7:39But even in your own homes,7:41we feel such a closeness7:43to HaKadosh Baruch Hu.7:43That's the idea7:44of7:46veshachanti betocham. That's the idea7:46of7:48hashra'at haShechinah, that Hashem lives with us.7:49And that's the month of7:51Adar. That's what we are really here.7:53We're preparing.7:54We're building.7:55We read about the construction of the Mishkan.7:58We celebrate.8:00Chag HaPurim in the month of Adar, which in itself brought about the building of the second Beit HaMikdash.8:05In the month of Adar, we give the shekalim, which goes to the maintenance of the Beit HaMikdash,8:10and once upon a time it was there to build the Mishkan itself.8:15This is the month of Adar. As the Ohr HaChaim puts it, Alef Dar.8:20The Alef, which represents the spirituality, the Hashem,8:24Elokim, is dar, comes and lives with us in the month of Adar.8:27And that's really what the month of Adar, that's the happiness of Adar.8:32The same sadness that we exercise in the month of Av,8:38we cut down on the happiness because Hashem's Shechinah left.8:42There's a destruction that's coming up in8:45Tisha B'Av. The same happiness is now in Adar,8:49hashra'at haShechinah. Hashem lives with us. Hashem comes to live with us.8:51And we all know, when you're building something, the excitement is much more than when you actually live in it.8:57Maybe the excitement is for the first day you live in it.8:59You're building a new home. You're building your sukkah.9:01You're building a treehouse for your kids.9:03You're working on a project. You're building something.9:06The work in the building is bringing such a happiness, the excitement.9:12That's what the month of Adar is.9:14It's the building for the month of9:17Nissan. When there is a hashra'at haShechinah, Rosh9:19Chodesh Nissan is when the Shechinah first had its presence in the Mishkan, as we see in Parashat Shemini.9:27And that's this happiness. This is what we're all happy about.9:30But the question is, how do we apply that practically?9:33One of the themes of the halacha hour is that we try to be very practical.9:37Maybe not today's class, and we'll see as we go to explain it,9:40but we try to be as practical as we can.9:42How do we apply it9:44practically? The Gemara tells us,9:53Miyom shenechrav Beit HaMikdash, ein lo laKadosh Baruch Hu ela arba amot shel halacha. From the day the Beit HaMikdash was destroyed, all Hashem has is four amot,9:58his six feet, eight feet, whatever shiur you go with,10:00his four amot of10:03halacha. Mefarshim point out that the Gemara doesn't say He has arba amot shel Torah,10:08which in itself we would say, oh, of course, the learning of Torah is great,10:12but it says shel halacha. What's the difference between halacha and Torah?10:17They're both. If you learn halacha, it is Torah.10:19So why did the Gemara choose that Hashem's presence is only found in10:24halacha? And the answer is that when a person is learning Torah,10:28what happens when he closes that book?10:30What happens when he closes that Gemara?10:31What happens when he closes that10:33sefer? Where is the Torah now?10:35Is it over?10:37The question is, what happens when he closes the book,10:39when he steps away from the book?10:40Is he living what he learned?10:43Is he applying what he learned to his life?10:46If yes, that's10:48halacha. Halacha can be fulfilled, can be lived,10:53not just in study, but in ma'aseh, in action as well.10:57That's the difference between regular Talmud Torah and11:01halacha. All is great.11:02All Talmud Torah is great.11:04It brings you closer to Hashem.11:06It connects you with the11:08Shechinah. It has the tremendous amount of reward that's spoken about in the Zohar11:12and all the Sifrei Chazal and Midrashim and all the Sifrei11:18Mussar. But the difference is that when you walk away from a halacha book,11:22you're living halacha book.11:23And as we mentioned when we first started learning11:27Hilchot Muktzeh, in the area of Shabbat, the halachot that come up the most,11:31the most. These are the halachot of11:36muktzeh. If we study the subject of bishul,11:39which is important and very, very important11:41because it's very easy for a person who doesn't know the halachot of bishul11:46to, chas v'shalom, transgress11:50an issur d'oraita and to be over an issur karet of Shabbat.11:54So it's very, very important to learn the halachot of bishul.11:57It's also very important to learn the halachot of borer.11:59But these things will only come up in when you're eating,12:03when you come to eat, borer,12:06or when you're warming up your food,12:09and that's it.12:09If you're in shul, the subject of bishul will not come up12:12unless you take care of the kids, of course, right?12:15But if most people are not,12:17so the subject of bishul will not come up.12:19The subject of borer is rare to come up also.12:21And these, by the way, are probably one of the most applicable melachot that we have on Shabbat.12:27Muktzeh is everywhere.12:28Muktzeh, wherever you turn,12:30every single item is subject to the laws of12:33muktzeh. That means muktzeh has to12:35pasken, the laws of muktzeh have to rule:12:37is this muktzeh or it's not12:39muktzeh? A sefer,12:40is it muktzeh or it's not12:42muktzeh? And when something is not12:44muktzeh, what degree do I have permission to move it?12:47I can just move whatever I like?12:48Is it like a sefer, as we learned,12:50where it has no restrictions on muktzeh whatsoever?12:52I can move a sefer in whichever way I want,12:54like the way I can move food?12:56Or is it like, perhaps like my shoes?12:58My shoes are kli שמלאכתו לאיסור, where I'm limited.13:00If I have no13:02tzorech, if I have no need for my shoes to be moved,13:05I can't just pick them up and move them.13:07I need to have a certain tzorech with it.13:09So those subjects of muktzeh that we're learning13:13are very, very important because13:15that's living13:16halacha. So it's not just a study.13:18Of course, as we're learning,13:19as the Mishnah says in Pirkei Avot,13:21the Shechinah is there when we're learning.13:23Hashem is sitting with us,13:25listening to us as well,13:27joining us in the13:28limud Torah. And that's where all the kedusha of Talmud Torah comes from.13:33It's not from who's speaking.13:35It's not what the person's saying.13:36It's the fact that Hashem's words,13:38when it's Hashem's words, the Shekhinah is there13:40and we feel that.13:42That's the kedusha of Torah,13:43and that happens with any Talmud Torah.13:45But when we're done with the class13:47and we're applying what we learned13:48and we're living what we learned,13:50that is13:51halacha. That's the arba amot13:53shel halacha where the Shekhinah is there.13:55That's a small sample of the Beit HaMikdash13:57that we have with us on a constant basis,14:01always, wherever we go.14:02We are a walking Beit HaMikdash.14:04Now, the month of Adar,14:06and this year when we have two months of Adar,14:09is the time when we have to focus more on our Talmud Torah.14:16A lot of people go through slumps.14:18It's a normal thing.14:19I just saw somebody this morning,14:20new, you go into classes,14:22the answer,14:22Oh, Rabbi, I fell out of it. I was...14:24It's normal.14:25It's normal.14:26People feel that,14:27Oh, I fell out of it. It's over.14:28No.14:29It's very normal for a person14:31to fall out of things,14:32in anything,14:33even non-spiritual things.14:35Gavah homer, Gemara says,14:36tefillah, Torah,14:38derech eretz. These are things that's very easy.14:40You have the yetzer hara pulling the other way the whole time,14:43and the yetzer hara nowadays is tremendous.14:46You have all these things that are always pulling people away.14:49Now the time of Adar is when we14:52have to re-inspire ourselves,14:54and we have to prepare ourselves14:55for the month of the holidays.14:58And therefore,14:59here from the Halacha Hour,15:00we, be'ezrat Hashem,15:02will give you the guideline15:03exactly what we hope,15:05what we're projecting, be'ezrat Hashem,15:06for the next coming classes15:08from now till about Pesach,15:10and even after Pesach.15:12We hope that we have15:14today's class and another15:16one or two more15:17classes on the subject of15:19muktzeh. Some people point out to me,15:20Rabbi, it's a lot of classes on15:22muktzeh. It is. It's a big subject.15:24I don't like to, you know,15:28learn a subject that's only halfway.15:30If we're doing it,15:31might as well do it all the way.15:32If it's too many classes,15:34okay, so it's15:35chazara. But it's not chazara. It's always new material.15:37It's a lot of information.15:39And Baruch Hashem,15:40we spent a lot of time on it.15:42But we all know that15:44the more, lefum tzaara agra,15:47the more effort, the more gain.15:49And we hope that the subject of15:51muktzeh has been clarified more than we had in the past.15:54We have a better understanding15:57of not just the laws,15:58but how to apply them.16:00So be'ezrat Hashem, we have this and I believe another one or two more classes on the subject of16:05muktzeh. After that, we will go into the laws of Purim,16:09as by the time we finish the halachot of muktzeh, I believe we're going to be right around the corner of Purim,16:15so we're going to have to go into the halachot of Purim.16:18From the halachot of Purim, of course, we have no break. We jump right into the halachot of Pesach.16:25That's right. Already Pesach is in the air. You got to start cleaning up16:30from now. You didn't even make Mishloach Manot, but you know you got to prepare yourself.16:33Of course, as we usually do, we dedicate about three to four classes on Pesach,16:38and then after Pesach, halachot of Sefirat HaOmer.16:40Those are regular halachot that come up every year.16:43When we finish our break from the halachot of Shabbat, because we'll be doing the halachot of current events,16:50which is the halachot of the holidays,16:52be'ezrat Hashem, we will begin already the next part of halachot Shabbat from the Ben16:59Ish Hai, and that is the halachot of melachot.17:04The melachot of Shabbat, the 39 melachot of Shabbat. We'll try to give a general introduction.17:08Hopefully by then, I'm really hoping that we could be working on a video,17:14a special video explaining the basics of the 39 melachot of Shabbat.17:19It's not just important for the kids to know in school what the 39 melachot are and the basic rules.17:24It's important for everybody to have an idea of what all the melachot are,17:29even if you don't know every single detail.17:31If you need more details, so you call Rabbi Tahan on Friday, he'll give you more17:35detail. But just to know at least where to ask, to know where there is a17:39shaila, to know where there is something coming up.17:42Hopefully we'll be working on that,17:43and of course we'll go through all the halachot that the Ben Ish Hai brings on halachot Shabbat,17:47and be'ezrat Hashem that will be already. After Pesach.17:51Now let's come back to our laws of17:55muktzeh. We are in Parashat Vayigash, Shanah Shniyah, in Ben18:00Ish Chai. We're up to Halacha Tet.18:02Halacha Tet is found, believe it or not, in Siman Shin Tet in Shulchan Aruch.18:08It's a short halacha, and a boring halacha, a practical18:12halacha. We'll read it and explain it, and then after that we'll move on to the other halachot,18:18and that is the introduction to the laws of18:24muktzeh, machmat issur, and what will be in itself an introduction to18:28basis ledavar ha-asur. As be'ezrat Hashem, the introduction we'll get to this week,18:33we'll get to the halachot next week.18:34Let's read Halacha Tet in18:36Ben18:44Ish Chai. נוטל אדם את בנו ברשות היחיד, ואבן או חתיכת חרס ביד הבן, ולא חשיבא מתלתא אתא אבן בידו. A person is allowed to carry his son in an area which is closed off,18:48what we know as a reshut hayachid, in your backyard.18:51Of course, if you don't share a backyard, you can carry your son even in your dining room.18:57So what's the chiddush that you carry your son,18:59your daughter also, by the way. You carry your kids, you carry both of your19:02kids. The chiddush is, even though the child is holding on to19:11muktzeh. Okay, so now you're going to ask me, what?19:13If my son is holding on to muktzeh, I can't carry him?19:17And guess what? No, really, under normal circumstances you cannot.19:22Here there's a special exception the Chachamim made that you're allowed to carry your son or your daughter19:27when they're carrying19:30muktzeh. במה דברים אמורים? When do we give you permission to carry your son if he's holding on to19:36muktzeh? כשיש לבן געגועים על אביו. That's only if the child... Has19:41gagu'im. The Israelis know I'm talking about gagu'im, so I hope I don't mess up the translation.19:44Gagu'im is the child really wants that the father should carry him.19:49She'im lo yitelenu yechilah, that if the, you know, he's cranky and they get very, very, you know, they have a tantrum and they want you to carry them,19:59that's when we allow you.20:01Now, the halacha says over here yechilah, but it doesn't mean yechilah as the Ben Ish Chai says,20:06klomar yitzta'er harbeh, that the kid has a major tantrum and he needs to be picked up.20:10So even though he's holding mukzeh in his hand—now what kind of20:13mukzeh? A stone. A stone is mukzeh machmat gufo, the most severe level of20:17mukzeh. Even though he's carrying the mukzeh, we allow you to carry him.20:22Also, another condition: we don't just allow you to carry the kid holding onto the20:28mukzeh, even though there's no problem carrying right now. We're talking about in your house, in your living room.20:33So what's the problem? Now I'm carrying the20:36mukzeh? Yes, that's a problem.20:37If you want to carry your son or daughter, it has to be that if you don't carry them, they're going to have a tantrum.20:42You don't need to wait for them to have a20:44tantrum. If you don't carry them, they're going to have a tantrum,20:47and also there was no possible way for you to throw away the stone from their hands,20:53because if you do, ki yitz'ak v'yivkeh, the kid will cry and he'll start yelling.21:00Without that, without these two conditions,21:03without the condition that—what does21:05that mean?—that if my child is carrying a stone in his hand, which is mukzeh machmat gufo,21:09and I can't get him to let go of it,21:12I also cannot pick him—excuse me, I also have to pick him up, because otherwise he's going to have a tantrum,21:20then I can't carry him,21:22even though he wants to be picked up. No,21:23you cannot pick him up,21:25men or women, by the way, this applies to.21:31Ve'afilu kisheyesh lo gagoin alav lo tiru ela be'even. And even when the child is going to have a tantrum otherwise,21:34hachamim allowed you to pick up your children when they're holding on to21:39muktzeh. That's only if they're holding on something very insignificant to you,21:43like a stone, like a piece of wood which in21:49the tzafas muktzeh. Aval im beyado dinar, if the child is holding on to something that's21:52muktzeh but it has importance to you in your eyes, like a21:57coin. Your son is carrying a dollar bill. Your son is carrying a dollar coin.22:06Asur litol hatinok. In that case, you can't pick up the kid.22:09You know why?22:10Because we're scared that if the kid drops the coin,22:16you might come to pick up that coin.22:20So in a case where, let's review it again,22:23in a case where he's carrying a stone, he's carrying22:25muktzeh, I can't pick up my kid.22:27Why?22:27It's considered like I'm carrying the22:30muktzeh. Now, you have obviously questions on this.22:31We'll discuss the question in a second,22:33but just hear the halacha first.22:35In a case where the child is carrying a22:38muktzeh machmat gufo, but it's something of value that's even valuable to me,22:43that there's a fear maybe, even if I know I22:46want, because it's a dollar, it's Shabbat, Shabbat is more important than a dollar,22:49but still, since it has value to you,22:52we're scared that if by carrying him,22:55and he drops the coin, you might come to pick it up,22:58because it's not like a stone where you just, you know, you couldn't care less about it,23:00you kick it to the side.23:02And not only that, there's a shitah, there's an opinion,23:05Shulchan Aruch, which the Ben Ish Hai goes with over here, and he says,23:11Ve'afilu le'achoz hatinok beyado mehalech beraglav nami asur. Not only carrying your child, even holding his hand.23:15So imagine your kid comes to you, he's holding on,23:18he has like a—he picked up a twenty-dollar bill,23:21and he's going to cry, and he tells you,23:25Tati, Abba, hold my hand. Walk me to the end of the room.23:30Walk me to my sister's room. Walk me to the basement. Walk me upstairs.23:33Not carrying, just holding on to him,23:36also asur. Why? We're scared, like we said, that you might come to pick up the23:41mukzeh, and since you might come to pick up the23:45mukzeh, hachamim were gozer. Now this sounds like a very, very, very far23:51gezeirah, but that's what it is really. That's the halacha.23:53Question now is like this:23:56I don't understand. I'm not carrying the23:58mukzeh. I'm carrying my son.24:00Who's carrying the stone? What's the problem with that?24:02Rabbi, didn't you teach us when it comes to muktzeh, there's something called tiltul min hatzad,24:06which means I'm allowed to use a broom, which is24:11kli shemelachto l'heter, to sweep away24:13muktzeh, right? You told us that.24:16Not only because it's graf shel rei; I'm allowed to24:18when it's24:20l'tzorech davar hamutar. So why over here is it a problem when I carry my son,24:23who's carrying the coin?24:26Or, okay, I understand if the coin. In the case of the coin,24:28it's a special gezeirah, I might come to pick it up.24:30But why is it a problem when he's carrying a stone?24:32I'm not carrying the stone; my son is carrying it.24:34For that, we have three answers.24:36My son, Piskei Teshuvot, he brings from three different sources, three answers.24:40Number one is that Chachamim made over here a special24:45gezeirah, and they considered that when you carry a child,24:47even though you're not carrying the stone directly24:49because your child is the one who's carrying it,24:51it's like you're carrying the stone with it.24:54That's one answer. That's a special24:57gezeirah. Another answer that's given is like this.25:01We said you could only carry your son who's carrying the stone25:05only if he would have a tantrum without it,25:09and that's what the Chachamim said:25:10he's going to be מצטער הרבה, יחלה, he might get sick.25:13So now, this reason gives me the heter to carry my son25:20because now25:23it is a tiltul min hatzad. I am carrying my son who's carrying the stone,25:27but the tiltul min hatzad is only mutar25:31l'tzorech davar hamutar. Remember the case we gave: if you have a fruit or a vegetable25:36that's buried in dirt and you want to shake off the dirt from it,25:40the dirt is muktzeh machmat gufo,25:42but the fruit is not25:43muktzeh. I'm allowed to shake off the dirt for the sake of the fruit.25:46I want the fruit; I'm shaking off the muktzeh from it.25:50That's mutar. I'm moving muktzeh through something that's mutar.25:56It's only mutar if it's for the sake of the fruit26:00or something that's not26:02muktzeh. When I sweep the floor, for example, let's say,26:05this happened to me the other day,26:06I had an envelope with checks and it fell on the floor.26:11So now I have a few checks on the floor that I wanted.26:13I can't pick up the checks; the checks are muktzeh machmat gufo.26:16But if I would sweep the checks with a broom,26:19that's called26:20tiltul min hatzad. It would still not be mutar if I'm sweeping the floor26:23because I want the checks to be placed in the closet,26:26otherwise my kids will rip it and make a whole design out of it.26:29But it will be only mutar because I want the floor clean.26:32The floor is something that's mutar;26:34I'm allowed to walk on the floor. I don't want it to be dirty.26:36But it's for the sake that I want the checks,26:38that will be called26:42tiltul min hatzad l'tzorech davar ha'asur and will be forbidden on26:45Shabbat. If the kid is not going to26:47cry when I carry my child, it's like I carried the stone.26:50It's called26:53tiltul min hatzad l'tzorech davar ha'asur. But if he's going to cry otherwise,26:55then we say26:59it's l'tzorech davar ha'mutar. A third answer that's given is,27:01beinat, I can't get my son to get rid of the stone.27:04Remember we said if he's holding onto the stone,27:06I have to make sure I tell him,27:07shake off that stone or shake it off from his hand.27:09If by shaking it off from his hand he's going to cry,27:11so obviously he needs the stone.27:13So when I'm carrying my son, I'm not only carrying my27:15son, I'm carrying him with the stone also with him.27:19So that's called27:22l'tzorech davar ha'asur. I'm carrying him not only for him,27:25I'm also carrying him for the stone.27:25I want the stone to be in his hand27:27because otherwise he's going to have a tantrum.27:30So then in that case, since I want to carry also the stone,27:34so then I have a problem. It's called,27:35even though it's27:37a tiltul min hatzad, but27:39it's a tiltul min hatzad l'tzorech davar ha'asur. It's for the sake of the stone, which will be forbidden on27:42Shabbat. So practically, if your child is carrying27:46muktzeh. Any mukseh, that is, you can't carry him27:47because he's considered like you're carrying that27:49mukseh. However, if the mukseh is of a category27:52that you yourself would have permission to move it,27:55it's like a27:57kli she'melachto l'isur. Your son is carrying a hammer.27:59Ah, well, that's dangerous, no?28:01Okay, so let's pick something else.28:02Your son is carrying a pen.28:04He won't let go of the pen,28:07and he needs you to carry him.28:09So now, regularly, I can take the28:11pen and use it28:13l'davar hamutar. In this case, by carrying my child who's carrying the pen,28:17so although it's considered like I'm carrying my pen,28:19but since my son needs me, it'll be mutar.28:21If my son is carrying something that's of value28:23that we're scared that you might come to pick it up,28:25and this is obviously conditional,28:29meaning to say it depends.28:31It's custom-made, this28:33halacha. If the item is chashuv to you,28:35but it's not chashuv to your wife,28:36it's important to you, it has value to you,28:39but it doesn't have value to your wife.28:41Your wife comes from a very wealthy family.28:44For her, twenty dollars is nothing.28:45For you, you work hard for your money.28:50You didn't grow up with such wealth.28:51So when you see the child carrying28:54twenty dollars, you might actually, you know, if he drops it,28:56you might come to pick it up.28:56You don't want the twenty dollars to be lost.28:58So it could be that for your wife it'll be mutar,29:01but for you it'll be asur.29:03It's all on how much you value the item.29:06But you can't say, I'm carrying my son,29:09I'm going to hold his hand,29:10and I'm not going to pick up the mukseh that he dropped.29:13You cannot say that,29:14because, like we said, it's29:17gezeirat chachamim. Once chachamim made29:18the gezeirah for that reason,29:20even if you believe you are an exception to the reason,29:23you're bound to the gezeirah of the29:26chachamim. That is halacha tet.29:28Now, halacha yud,29:30we begin the subject of the last category of29:34mukseh that we're going to focus on.29:35Really, it's two categories of29:37mukseh. And they are muksei machmat issur29:40and basis29:43l'davar ha'asur. These two categories of muksei are not simple.29:47There are not a lot of29:49halachot. They're not simple, though.29:50We needed to learn muksei machmat gufo29:52before we got to this subject,29:54because these subjects are really connected to each other.29:58Muksei machmat gufo.29:59Let's just review very quickly.30:00Muksei machmat gufo is any item that has no purpose.30:04It's not used for anything,30:05like money, stones, or dirt.30:08In itself has no intrinsic value,30:10and that's how it came into Shabbat30:12with that status.30:13It's just a stone.30:14It's not used for anything.30:17And the subject of muksei machmat issur30:19and basis30:21l'davar ha'asur really rely on knowing this fact.30:24Now, we're about to tell you30:26something very, very important30:28in the knowledge of the halachot of Shabbat in general,30:31but they are very technical.30:33They're very technical.30:36I don't want to sound like, you know,30:37has v'shalom, you know,30:39but this is primarily30:41going to be an immense thing.30:42What we're about to30:43learn doesn't have so much practicality,30:46but the concepts are found everywhere,30:48that men who learn Torah,30:51this concept will come up a lot30:54in Gemara, Masechet Shabbat,30:56Hilchot Shabbat,30:57and you probably have heard these terminologies,31:00and if you're not really familiar with them,31:02you know, you're probably spaced out31:04because like, whoa, what's going on over here?31:06And if you are a little bit familiar,31:08hopefully with the following31:08we'll have a little bit more clarification on it.31:11I apologize for anybody who is not into31:14the sugya, but hopefully those who are learning the subject31:16or would like to go into the subject,31:18I hope that the following introduction31:20to the halachot of basis31:22l'davar ha'asur will be Enlightening and helpful31:26when you come to study Hilchot Shabbat31:30b'Iyun. Let's begin as follows.31:32There are three places, or three categories,31:38in the Hilchot Shabbat31:40where we find a machloket in the Gemara31:42between two great31:44Tanaim. One is Rabbi Yehuda and one is Rabbi Shimon.31:46There's three machlokot between31:47Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbi Shimon in Hilchot Shabbat,31:50and in all these three categories,31:55we usually—I'm saying the word usually31:56because it's most of the31:58time—most of the time we rule like Rabbi Shimon.32:00Okay, what are these three areas? What are these three categories of halacha Shabbat,32:05or what are these things? Now, this is not just one isolated area.32:10These concepts—really, the word category was not32:13correct—these three concepts in Shabbat are found everywhere.32:16In every halacha that you're going to be learning in Shabbat,32:19these concepts will also apply there.32:21So what are these three concepts?32:24Let's begin with the first thing.32:25Something known by maybe some people heard of it; now we get a little clear.32:30There's something known,32:34davar she'eino mitkaven. That's the first category. What does it mean,32:36davar she'eino mitkaven? It means you're doing something that's mutar on Shabbat,32:40but as a result of what you're doing,32:43it's possible that you may cause an issur to happen32:50as you're doing that which is mutar.32:52You're doing something completely mutar,32:53but it's very possible that as what you're doing,32:56you could cause an issur to take place,32:58and your intention is not for the sake of33:02issur. It's called33:04davar she'eino mitkaven. You're not intending to do an33:05issur, and it's not certain that the issur will happen.33:08Let's give you an example to that.33:10Let's say you have a garden,33:12and you have a chair, and you want to drag your chair.33:15You have those plastic light chairs.33:17For you to dig a hole in your garden is asur on Shabbat for many reasons.33:22One of the main reasons is33:25choreish. You're plowing your field,33:27which in itself sets up the melacha of planting.33:32So here, you're dragging your chair.33:34Is it possible that maybe as you're dragging your chair,33:37maybe that it might make holes in the ground?33:40Yeah, of course it's possible.33:41Is it certain? No.33:43So is it mutar to drag my chair from my house33:49Through my, in my backyard, through my garden33:52to get to the end of the garden where I want to sit down with my family.33:56Mutar or asur?33:57This is a machloket of Rabbi Yehuda and the Rabbanan. According to Rabbi Yehuda, asur.34:00Why?34:01The possibility that maybe I'm gonna dig something in the ground34:05and therefore be over in the issur direct of34:09choresh, which is34:10davar she'eino mitkaven, according to Rabbi Yehuda, is asur.34:11However, according to Rabbi Shimon, it is mutar.34:15Why?34:15Because it's not certain it's34:17gonna happen. It's possible.34:19Once something is possible34:20and I don't have intention to do the34:24issur, so it's known as34:25davar she'eino mitkaven. According to Rabbi Shimon, it's mutar,34:26and that is the34:28halacha. We hold like Rabbi Shimon in this area.34:31However, when I'm doing something that's mutar34:34and it's inevitable that something asur will also happen,34:39then even Rabbi Shimon will agree to Rabbi Yehuda that it's gonna be asur.34:42I'll give you an example.34:43I have a fridge34:46and I have a light bulb in the fridge,34:48and I forgot to shut off the light bulb before Shabbat.34:53I know for sure34:54I forgot to shut off the light bulb.34:55It's my job,34:56and I left it on.34:57And not only that,34:58I saw when the kids opened up the fridge on Shabbat and closed it,35:01I see the light went on.35:03So now, when I open the door of the fridge,35:05what am I doing?35:06In essence, why am I opening the door of the fridge?35:08I don't care about the light.35:10All I want to do is open the35:12fridge, take my lettuce from there,35:16and I want to eat my salad on Shabbat,35:18ah, geshmak a salad on Shabbat.35:21My act of opening the door is really nothing intrinsically forbidden.35:25I'm allowed to open the door.35:26Yeah, but when you open the door,35:28which is mutar,35:30you're causing the light to go on.35:32And you can't say35:33maybe, yeah, maybe not.35:33For sure it's gonna go on.35:35That's called a35:37psik reisha. Psik reisha, even Rabbi Shimon holds35:39that's asur.35:40This is, Rabbi Shimon is matir only in the case35:42where it's not certain it's going to happen or not,35:45and that is known35:46halacha as35:48davar she'eino mitkaven. So this is the first area of35:50machloket between Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbi Shimon,35:52and we rule like Rabbi Shimon.35:54Next,35:55second area, second concept of Shabbat35:58that we find machloket between Rabbi Shimon and Rabbi Yehuda36:01is something known as36:05melacha she'eina tzricha legufah. Melacha, which the Gemara terms it,36:07this is the phrase in the Gemara,36:11melacha that's not needed for itself.36:13You're not going to understand what this means36:14if you just translate.36:15There are four different shitot of what they explain.36:18The more simple explanation,36:20and we'll right now use the explanation of the Tosafot.36:24In order for a person to be36:26chayav, mide'oraita, on a melacha on Shabbat,36:30it has to be done with the same purpose36:32that was done when the Mishkan was up.36:35We all know that the 39 melachot that are forbidden on Shabbat36:39are derived from the 39 melachot that have been used,36:43have been done to build the36:47Mishkan. One of the melachot, let's give something that's very, very,36:50what's it called, practical.36:52One of the melachot that they had to do is36:53they had to color the Kohen's garments in36:57techelet, and that color of techelet comes from a certain fish37:02in the water known as the37:04chilazon, so they had to trap the fish.37:07So trapping the fish on Shabbat is forbidden.37:11Why? Because that's what they did in the37:14Mishkan. They had to trap the fish.37:15That's not only fish, it's all animals.37:17Any animal, if I'm trapping the animal on Shabbat,37:20that's also forbidden.37:21It's known as melacha of37:23tzad. I don't have to kill it.37:24Killing is another37:25issur, but just trapping it alone is asur37:30mide'oraita. Okay?37:32But in the Mishkan, why did they trap the fish?37:34Because they wanted to use the fish for its blood.37:36They wanted the fish.37:38So therefore, on Shabbat,37:40if a person traps an animal37:42not because he wants to use the animal,37:46but he wants to get rid of37:48it—give you a mashal.37:49Let's say you have a cockroach,37:52and the cockroach, you know,37:53not the friendliest and cutest presence in the house.37:57You know, not so many people, you know, say,38:00Ah, cute, look at that, there's a cockroach.38:02Can I pet you?38:03Right? Usually people try to get rid of a cockroach.38:05It gives you this creepy feeling,38:07right? If not, okay,38:09Hashem yirachem. So now he says, I want to trap the cockroach.38:12Why?38:13Not because I want to capture it and I want to use it as a pet,38:15put a leash around it and walk it every day.38:16No.38:17I want to trap the cockroach because I want to get rid of it.38:20I want to throw it out of my house.38:21So in that case,38:23I'm performing a melacha of38:25tzad, but not for the same reason that they did it in the38:27Mishkan. In the Mishkan, they trapped the fish because they wanted it.38:30Here, I'm trapping the cockroach because I want to get rid of it.38:33I want to throw it out of my house.38:34Here is another area of38:37machloket between Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbi Shimon.38:40According to Rabbi Yehuda,38:41machmir, asur.38:42That's asur38:44mideoraita. Even though it's38:46melacha she'eina tzricha legufah, even though you're not doing it for the same reason38:48of why the Jews did it38:52in the times when they were building the38:54Mishkan, according to Rabbi Yehuda,38:55who cares?38:56Nonetheless, it's38:57still—you're performing38:58a melacha. You're trapping the animal at the end of the day,39:00and39:02yechayav mideoraita. However, Rabbi Shimon says,39:03no.39:04It's mutar, it's mutar,39:06but it's not asur39:10mideoraita. It's only asur39:11miderabbanan. What's known in halacha as39:13patur aval asur.39:15That means if a person traps a cockroach39:17and should throw it out of his house,39:18it's asur39:21deRabbanan, but not39:24mideOraita according to Rabbi Shimon.39:24And here,39:26the majority of Rishonim rule like Rabbi Shimon again.39:30However, the Rambam rules,39:32in the case of39:34melachah she'eina tzrichah legufah, he rules like Rabbi Yehuda,39:36that person would be39:37chayav. So two people are taking out the cockroach,39:41or one person—sorry—one person takes39:42a cockroach and throws it out of the house.39:43It could have lived39:44there, but he doesn't like it.39:45It's not so cute.39:46He wants it out of the house,39:47but he trapped it.39:48The trapping itself of the cockroach,39:51according to the Rambam,39:53it's39:54a sur deOraita, even though you're trying to get rid of it.39:56Let's make this39:57a sur deOraita. According to39:59Rabbi—according to the other...40:00First, which is Rabbi Shimon, it will be patur, b'asur d'rabbanan, but not40:07asur d'oraita. Third area of machloket between Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbi Shimon on Chol Shabbat40:12is what's known in halacha as mukseh. Oh, this is our subject.40:18You'll be shocked if you haven't heard this before. You'll be shocked what we're about to say.40:22The Gemara says there's a machloket between Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbi Shimon when it comes to40:26mukseh. According to Rabbi Yehuda, there is mukseh on Shabbat. The laws of mukseh are in effect on Shabbat.40:34The concept of mukseh exists on Shabbat. There's an issur of mukseh on Shabbat.40:38However, Gemara says according to Rabbi Shimon, with only minor exceptions, he doesn't hold of40:46mukseh. And guess what? The halacha is like Rabbi Shimon that besides a few cases, there is no40:54mukseh. What? There's no mukseh? We spend maybe 20 hours learning the halachot of mukseh, and now you tell me there's no41:02mukseh, so what did I learn all this for?41:05Hold on, before you throw your tomatoes at your radio station, at your internet, just listen very well.41:10What does it mean that Rabbi Shimon doesn't hold of41:15mukseh? So here we have the Tur and the Beit Yosef. The Beit Yosef really more talks about it,41:21and all the Acharonim explain this. When we say that according to Rabbi Shimon that he doesn't hold of mukseh, it's only talking about in specific area.41:29There's only two specific areas where they had a machloket on.41:36Two, I wouldn't even say two, but in the few specific areas is where they had a machloket on.41:43Number one is like this. In areas where Rabbi Shimon and Rabbi Yehuda disagree,41:52will be like an area like41:56mukzeh machmat mi'us. We haven't learned the subject because we don't rule להלכה like Rabbi Yehuda in the subject.42:02Mukzeh machmat mi'us means something that is disgusting.42:07It has a function, but right now in its present state it's disgusting,42:12and according to Rabbi Yehuda, the fact that it's disgusting makes it42:18mukzeh. Okay? Not to be mixed up with graf shel rei. Graf shel rei is the opposite.42:21Graf shel rei allows me to move it even though it's42:24mukzeh. Here it's the opposite. It's a42:26kli. Under normal circumstances I should be able to move it, but because it became disgusting,42:31so I can't move it. It's called42:33mukzeh machmat mi'us. I'll give you an example,42:35practical example. You have a bowl and you put cat food in it,42:39and then afterwards you come and you see it.42:41Now the bowl in itself should be42:44kli שמלאכתו להיתר. It's a bowl. It's made to hold food.42:46But now the cats ate from it. Ugh, it's all leftovers.42:49Not the leftovers, but you see the grease still on it,42:53and you know that animals ate from it, and who knows what they did to it.42:56So it's disgusting to you.42:58So according to Rabbi Yehuda, that bowl now becomes43:02mukzeh. You cannot move that bowl. That's known as43:05mukzeh machmat mi'us. Rabbi Shimon says, no. It's a bowl. It's ראוי. It could be used.43:11Who cares if it's disgusting?43:12Mukzeh machmat mi'us does not apply on Shabbat.43:15That's where Rabbi Shimon argues on43:18Rabbi Yehuda on mukzeh. However, all other areas of mukzeh, or the majority of other areas of mukzeh that we discussed,43:25even Rabbi Shimon will agree that they are43:28mukzeh. For example,43:30mukzeh machmat חסרון כיס. Rabbi Shimon in the Gemara says, agrees that it's going to be43:33mukzeh. Mukzeh machmat גופו. Stones and things,43:36Rabbi Shimon would agree that's43:38muktzeh. Also,43:41kli shemelachto le'isur, that you're limited to moving it43:43only l'tzorech gufo43:45u'mekomo, but43:46mechamah l'tzel is asur. Also, Rabbi Shimon would agree that's43:50muktzeh. So, when we said that Rabbi Shimon disagrees43:53with Rabbi Yehuda on muktzeh, it's only in specific areas.43:57We listed before one of them,44:00muktzeh machmat mi'us. In that case, we rule like Rabbi Shimon.44:02However, there are cases where Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbi Shimon disagree in44:07muktzeh, and we still don't rule like Rabbi Shimon.44:10Even though Rabbi Shimon says what he says,44:12he's meikel, he's more lenient,44:14we are stringent.44:15What's that case?44:16Case of44:19muktzeh d'bein hashmashot, and this, rabotai, listen up, very, very important.44:21What's the case of44:23muktzeh d'bein hashmashot? It's something basically44:25that entered Shabbat,44:27or, you know, Shabbat begins44:29is from sheki'ah, sunset,44:31until tzeit hakochavim, that's known as44:33bein hashmashot. We discussed this in the past.44:35That's basically the bridge from weekday to Shabbat.44:41In that bridge of time,44:44if something came into Shabbat as44:48muktzeh, it remains muktzeh throughout the whole duration of Shabbat,44:54even though44:55the reason of44:56the muktzeh might have been removed on Shabbat.45:00I'll give you an example.45:01We're going to learn in the laws of45:03basis l'davar ha'asur is45:04that when something is forbidden45:07is placed on top of something45:09that's mutar,45:10even the item that's holding45:13the forbidden piece45:15also becomes45:17muktzeh. I'll give you a very, very simple example.45:19You have money. Money is muktzeh machmat gufo.45:21You place money in a bowl.45:24Okay,45:24so long as the money is in the bowl,45:25the bowl also has the same status as the money.45:28Also, the bowl is muktzeh machmat gufo.45:30Now, here's the machloket of Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbi Shimon.45:32According to Rabbi Yehuda,45:34if the money somehow was moved, it was taken, it was removed45:37on Shabbat from the bowl,45:39the bowl remains45:40muktzeh because it came into Shabbat with the money on it,45:43and it was placed there intentionally,45:45therefore it remains45:47muktzeh. However, according to Rabbi Shimon,45:50he'll say like this:45:51I understand that when the money is in the bowl,45:53it's muktzeh, the bowl is45:55muktzeh, even though it should always be,45:57it's a kli she'melachto l'heter. But as long as the money is on it,45:59Rabbi Shimon will agree46:01that's muktzeh. But once the money came off,46:03so why are you making the bowl46:06muktzeh? Let's say the muktzeh is gone,46:07use the money, use the bowl, excuse me.46:09What's the problem?46:12This is known as muktzeh ben hashmashot.46:14We in this area46:16rule—we, I mean all of Klal Yisrael, by the way,46:18it's not46:19Ashkenazis, Sefardi, everybody,46:21Shulchan Aruch, Gemara—we rule in this area like46:24Rabbi Yehuda,46:25not like Rabbi Shimon.46:27Why?46:29The Bahag, Baal Halachot Gedolot, one of the earlier Rishonim, explains46:31because in the Gemara we find that46:33Rabbi Meir also rules like Rabbi Yehuda.46:34So it comes out Rabbi Meir and Rabbi Yehuda hold,46:36in such cases, it's46:39muktzeh. The bowl remains46:41muktzeh even though the coins were removed from it on Shabbat,46:44since they came into ben hashmashot46:46as46:47muktzeh, and Rabbi Shimon, who is matir, is46:49יחיד, יחיד versus rabbim; the rule is like the rabbim.46:52Good?46:53So let's give you another mashal.46:55You have a bowl that has oil in it,46:58and you put a wick inside of it,47:00and now it's lighting.47:01You know that the oil47:04will finish47:05three hours into Shabbat.47:06Okay, in those sticks, you know that the oil47:08is going to shut off after three hours.47:10According to Rabbi Shimon...47:12As long as the flame is on, you can't use your candlesticks.47:15You can't use that bowl.47:16Contra Rabbi Yehuda,47:18even when the candles shut off,47:21even when they shut off,47:24you cannot47:25use the candlesticks for the whole duration of47:27Shabbat, since it came into Shabbat47:28with muktzeh on it.47:30This is known as47:33muktzeh de-ben hashmashot.47:35Now, there are areas47:37where Rabbi Shimon himself47:39will agree47:40that if it came into Shabbat47:43as47:44muktzeh, it will remain muktzeh throughout all of Shabbat,47:46even though the reason why it's muktzeh is gone.47:49For example,47:51you have fruits on a tree,47:54and47:55it came into Shabbat on a tree,47:57and then the wind blew47:58and the—48:00The fruits fell off from the tree.48:02I contribute that for sure, since they came into Shabbat48:05ben hashmashot as muktzeh, remains48:06muktzeh. But even Rabbi Shimon will agree in this area48:09that the fruits are48:11muktzeh. Why?48:12And here is very, very important,48:13because according to Rabbi Shimon,48:16for something to have the status of48:18muktzeh throughout the whole duration of Shabbat,48:21you need two conditions.48:22What are these two conditions?48:24Condition number one is known as48:26dechiyah b'yadayim, that you actively set it aside.48:30You personally set it48:32aside that you didn't want to use it.48:34Number two, you need both.48:35Number two is that48:37lo haziah48:39ben hashmashot. There wasn't a possible way that you could have48:42used that item48:43during48:44ben hashmashot in a permissible way.48:46For example, let's take the fruit.48:49The fruit was on the tree.48:50When ben hashmashot came in, the fruit was on the tree.48:53Once ben hashmashot came in,48:54could you take from that fruit?48:55According to Rosh, no, because you'd be tolesh,48:58that's a soteh oraita, ripping off the fruit from the tree.49:01Not only that,49:02the fact that you didn't pick the fruits on the tree49:04from before Shabbat,49:05it shows that you don't want them.49:07That's like pushing them aside.49:08So according to Rabbi Shimon,49:11even though a storm came and it was windy49:14and the fruits fell on Shabbat,49:16since you were49:17docheh b'yadayim, you didn't pick them.49:19And also, you couldn't have49:21used the fruit49:23during49:25ben hashmashot, then it remains muktzeh throughout the whole duration49:28of Shabbat.49:30This is a short49:32introduction to49:33muktzeh machmat issur49:35and the cases of49:37machloket between Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbi Shimon.49:39This, a little bit more detail on this,49:41be'ezrat Hashem, next week when we get into the subject more,49:43we review this last concept49:45with a few practical applications,49:47and, be'ezrat Hashem, we'll come back49:49to practical49:51halacha.
